You believe in superstitions ? I don't, not really. Well today is Friday the 13th, the first one of the new year. There is 3 Friday the 13th's this year. April & July are next. It is thought to be the most unlucky day, dating back to the 1800's. There is a phobia for this ... Friggafriskaidekaphobia .... yeah? no idea how to pronounce , except the phobia ! Some people even avoid everyday routines & don't go to work because of Friday the 13th. Found some different superstitions & thought I would share ....
- 13 is consider to be an unlucky number & Friday to be an unlucky day
- Getting married on Friday the 13th means your marriage is doomed
- Fishermen are to avoid fishing on the day
- Farmers should avoid harvesting on the day
- You should avoid moving on this day
- This day has been associated with stock market crashes
- You should not be seated at a table with 13 for dinner, for death will be to one (Geez !)
- The 13th guest at the Last Supper , Judas, betrayed Jesus
- There is no 13 gate at airports & no room # 13 in a hospital.
Makes ya think. We have had a Great Friday the 13th. We did sit down to eat with family to eat at Cracker Barrel tonight & I have to admit , I did count how many ! _
