Garden

Our garden is growing !!! Everything we planted has sprouted, even the seeds we planted along the edge of the woods. Now if we can keep the critters out of it , we'll be doing good !

Tubing

We took the kids tubing. They love it & I have to admit, I'm nervous when they are being pulled. It's all fun until someone gets hurt. They are always telling me to calm down. I guess thats just the Momma in me . Here's some pics of the first tubing of the year.

 

 

Boat Day

Sunday was beautiful ! Headed out on the boat with us & Stacey, Anna & Shannon. We anchored up with friends until the tide went down on our favorite spot. Later in the afternoon , Ty Sarah & Hanna got picked up from the dock. Looks like this summer is gonna be hauling teen agers around, but we dont care .... the more the merrier. We always have an open invitation with whoever wants to go on the boat.

 

Cameron's Flounder

Our memorial weekend started off with some fishing. Tyler, Cameron & some of Tyler's co workers set out early Saturday morning . Cameron was the only one who caught something. Tyler said it was rough & windy. We didn't head back out once they came in. Just stayed around the house , until time to go to Dwayne's 50th birthday party.

Spent the day out on the boat. Beautiful day ! Will blog more about it later. Just getting in.... tired, ready to wash & get in the bed.

Another off & on of rain & storms. Tropical storm Beryl has now formed off the coast of Florida. As long as I have lived at the coast , I never know them to generate themselves off our own coast , let alone 2 in one week. Beryl is impacting our Memorial Day weekend. Cameron & Tyler went out fishing early this morning . Cameron caught a flounder . Tyler said it was rough & blowing , so we didn't head back out once they came in. Maybe tomorrow .....

Porch Rug

People have commented on my rug for my porch several times & when I tell them about it they are surprised. I found this on line. I wanted a turquoise rug for the porch & came across this one. This is a "Green " rug & is made entirely out of recycled plastic bags! And yes, its soft & doesn't feel like plastic at all.

 

 

Garden Update

For Mothers Day I asked for a garden box, so Saturday, Cameron & myself planted some stuff. We planted corn, summer squash, carrots, okra, cucumbers & broccoli. We will see what happens over the next couple of weeks. My tomato bushes & jalapeno plant are covered & I am gonna have a bunch riped this week. My Daddy will be happy cause he asked me about some tomato's today.

 

 

 

 

Happy Birthday Tyler !

Happy Happy Birthday to my husband, Tyler. Oh, how I wished we were back on that island celebrating today ! Instead your Birthday is on a Wednesday & you have to work ! Sucks ! Blessed to be able to celebrate another year with Him ! I love you Tyler & you will ALWAYS be older than me ! Happy Birthday !!!

 

Had our first dinner on the porch Sunday . Sarah & Rachel came over & ate grilled pizza's with us. They were yummy as usual. We tried a smores pizza tonight. It was OK , I think I put too much on it. The kids ate & liked it . Rachel cleaned the pizza cutter cleaned. We had a good time. Ty & Sarah laughed & laughed over some app on Sarah's phone . I am thankful for their friendship & so glad they are so close with each other.

Tropical Storm

We have our first named storm of the season . Tropical Storm Alberto ! Formed off the coast of South Carolina. Its not expected to do much & skirt off the coast , but wow , kinda early . Is this what we have in store for this year. The water is perfect conditions & never really reach its winter temperature, so I feel like we are gonna have a active season.

Porch Update

We spent all day yesterday working on the porch. Tyler has spent every night this past week, that he has been home, on it putting up screen. We'll the screen is up, but not completely bug free. The rafters on the inside has to be boxed in, but for the most part, its alot better with the screens up. Tyler worked on getting our old doors screened & hung. He had to adjust & sand them in some areas but they are up & need a little adjusting. Got the bed painted & put together & now we just need to hang it . So we're coming close to having it almost done, in couple of months , it will be complete. We have the wall on the inside to put up, electrical stuff for fan,lights & speakers, paint the inside & out. Then its on to work on the outside kitchen & hopefully a pool  one day ! Tyler keeps telling me no pool , but I had & dream this winter that Ty & Sarah's graduation party was in my back yard around the pool ! We'll see....

We have been busy today ! Will post more with pics tomorrow .....

TGIF

Hooray for Friday ! Cameron finished up his EOG'S today. We are glad to see the weekend here. Now only if this weather would clear up , we'd be good. It has rained everyday since last Sunday & stormed . Hoping to go on boat but the weather is suppose to be bad . Got a lot going on this weekend & hope we can get some things finished up around here. Will blog more tomorrow .

Bahamas

Just going thru some pics on the computer & found some from our trip we took to the Bahamas last May. We had such a good time & I loved it there! Every chance I got I was in the beautiful water! I know I talk about having sand on my feet & on the water is where I am my happiest , but I felt so at peace in the Bahamas! I tell Tyler all the time when the boys get grown we are moving there & hopefully one day we will !

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Garden

Got a big pick off my tomatos & jalapeno bush . My bushes are loaded with them & this coming week, probably gonna have double that as this last pick. Cameron enjoys checking, watering & gets excited when we have to pick. Gave all to my sister, Robin, who makes yummy homemade salsa ! She is not gonna have to buy jalapenos for a while !

 

Tylers Catch

Tyler & our friend Cleve set out about dusk on Saturday, to "wet a hook". Tyler said the lines were out about 3 mins & they had a bite! Im not real sure as to why Tylers shorts were pulled up? They had to get out about waist deep to reel them in so maybe he just didnt realize they were up, but anyway , they did good !

 

Boat Day

Saturday, Tyler & myself were kid less. Cameron was at a birthday party & Ty was working & went off with friends. The weather was gonna be perfect so we set out on the boat with just the 2 of us. The water was so clear. I jumped off the boat one time thinking I was in shallow water & down under I went. There were Lots of jellyfish everywhere & other little creatures as well. I had to come home & google it to find out what they were. They are called Sea Hares, a form of a Sea Slug. The were so pretty swimming in the water & when you picked them up & then put them back in the water they let out a bright purple ink. As many years as I have lived here I have never seen them before. My Dad said because of the warm winter we had & the water never got cold & I'll have to say the water was not cold & usually the first time out , it takes your breath away. I enjoyed playing with them & the time spending it with just Tyler. We ended up meeting our friends The Nordeens about 7 to cook out on the beach & didn't come in from the boat till 10.

 

 

 

 

Happy Mothers Day !

Happy Mothers Day ! Went & ate at my parents, came home & went out on the boat for a little while. Thought it was gonna storm but never did. When a storm is in the background it makes the prettiest pictures on the water to me. We did a little exploring & fishing. Cameron caught some crazy looking fish, but other than that nothing. Had a good day
