Week one down...

Well the first week of school is officially over & looking forward to a four day weekend. Both of my boys had a fairly good week. Cameron twisted his foot & bruised it on Wednesday, so been nursing that & Ty says he did what he was suppose to do. I found on Pinterest this lady who had this great blog about school lunches , so Cameron & I planned his meals this week. She had lots of ideas & he said his lunch was good . Here's some pics of his lunches .

Evening Ride

This morning was gray & gloomy again but by late afternoon the sun came out & we decided to take a little boat ride. Water was slick & the moon was out. Beautiful night on the water & we enjoyed every minute of it !

Guess what ?

Yep, rain ! Pouring rain ! I ran out to do some errands later this morning. Went by the bank & landscape guys were working , rode by another business & landscape crews working. Passed by the ABC store & a man was power washing & then turned in my neighborhood & a lady was running & a man was walking, all in the pouring rain ! I don't mean they got caught in it, because it had been raining thru the night. I guess it has got to the point that sitting inside waiting for the weather isn't paying the bills. I felt bad for those workers. So yes , rain again & looks like one more day of it , till next week. Shew , seeing the sunshine is very rare around here & looking forward to sitting & basking in it !

Rain, Rain, Rain !

Well thanks to Hurricane Isaac we now have tropical moisture over us for the next couple of days ! Humid, gloomy , soggy weather is something I am really tired of seeing. The only thing good about this weather is it is good sleeping weather. So now we have a flood advisory, humm can't imagine why ? Looking forward to the weekend & hoping Saturday will be good weather !

Back to School !

Bright & early this morning ! No problems from either one of them. Was a little late getting Cameron to school. I didn't want to be in traffic & didn't ! Cameron went right in & of course I had to yack with his teacher. Ty was up & Sarah didn't have to wait on him too much. Passed them coming down the road Cameron's school is on , on their way to get Hanna. Both came home & said they had a pretty good day. No complaints from Ty so hopefully this year will be good. Fingers Crossed !

Those fingers are to represent 11. Best Sarah could get.

Last day ....

Well last day before school starts. It was sunny!!! Went to church & then to town to get some last minute school stuff together. We didn't make it out on the boat but headed up to Jeffery & Erin's for a little while. Ty & his friends headed out on a friends boat. Yesterday we had a boat full of girls. Sarah, Hanna & Valerie wanted to tube & all three of them piled on that little tube of ours. We laughed & laughed at them . Ty was fishing in a fishing tournament . Asked for pics today & yesterday from him & got nothing. They also didn't catch a fish ! We tried to make the best of it this week but the weather kept us from doing a lot. I keep telling the boys , summers not over , but I don't think they care, its over for them. Ty is so not wanting to go to school. I am ready to get back to school schedule. We have had a great summer break ! As Phil preached this morning ... I am truly content & blessed in so many ways.

Fishing

Tyler & Cameron set out early this morning with The Veltoven men. Went out right past the breakers in the  inlet of Riches Inlet. The weather was gloomy & chilly, but the fishing was great ! They caught 18 Spanish Mackerels. Not too bad. Cameron came home & told me how much fun he had. Thanks Mark & Darden !

After fishing we headed out to enjoy the water. It was not raining but gloomy & cold. Soon as we headed back & got everything unloaded , the sun came out ! Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Soggy Friday

Yep ! Gloomy, rainy, stormy day , AGAIN! Plans for Jungle Rapids was a wash. Tyler was home early afternoon , so we headed to pick Ty's jeep up & then to Wal Mart in Leland to finish up on school supplies & get school lunch stuff. We ended up going to FreshBerry. The boys got ice cream , but I got a cupcake . YUM! I got the coconut vanilla bean. Yes , delicious ! Ate half & saving the other half for tomorrow . Hopefully I will have my tail in a beach chair somewhere tomorrow. Weather is suppose to break & glad we will be able to spend time with our friends & our kids before its back to school !

Another Day...

Another day of... you guessed it , Rain ! Plans for the beach, didn't happen. It has been a day! Haggling over Ty's schedule & Cameron's open house tonight. Whew! Cameron got the group of teachers I wanted which makes me happy. Hopefully will be a good year to end his final years in elementary school.  GNO was tonight & was much needed ! The weekend is coming & hope this weather can give us a break  to be able to enjoy this last weekend before school starts !

Burgers & Doughnuts

Well guess what ? It stormed again today , I know shocker ! Ugh, sick of it ! We were bound & determined to do something on our list today. Since Tyler was in town we decided today we would go to Merritt's Burger House & Britt's Doughnuts.  Merritt's has been open a long time. Tried to look up the history on it but couldn't really find info. Cameron had never been & thought it was pretty cool to be at an old drive in. We ate & hurried to get to Carolina Beach before it started to storm again. Got there, got a good park, walked to Britt's & then I was ticked ! Now I had checked their hours before I left & tapped up on the doors was a paper sign that said "New Hours Thurs-Sun". What the heck !!! I hardly ate anything at Merritt's because I wanted to eat 2 doughnuts ! Cameron was bummed too. Something he really wanted to do. So back we will go.
