Happy Halloween

Want to know how my day started out ? At 1am this morning Cameron's stomach bug decided to show up again, this time in a not so good way. I can handle alot of things but vomit is not one. I gag & throw up myself & have trained my boys they Better NOT throw up on the carpet ! I don't care if you puke in your shirt or on the bed , you Better NOT throw up on the carpet ! Ty has done it once when he was 3 & hasn't ever done it since for fear of Mom & well Cameron never has ... until last night ! OMG !!! He was sleeping with me in my bed & I heard him gagging & caught him over the side of the bed, YES on the CARPET ! He threw the covers back & went to the bathroom when he decided to stop on the threshold between the bathroom tile & the carpet  & instead of going on the tile , yep spewed everywhere on the CARPET !  Not on the tile... the CARPET !!!! I'm hollering get in the bathroom ! Move ! & what does he decide to do while I'm gagging , finished up puking in the SINK ! By that time we woke Ty up & he comes in there to see whats going on & is going to lay across the foot of the bed & pulled the covers back to reveal a whole meal on my bedspread !!! He starts gagging , I'm yelling don't you start, get out & Cameron is continuing clogging up the sink  & me gagging too ! It was bad ! I pull the bedding off & here I go out in the yard in my drawers with the water hose to spray the bedspread off. It was that bad! Cameron's crying cause I'm yelling & I know he couldn't help it but it would had been nice if he just would had made it on the tile ! So 45mins later I've got everything stripped & chunks up & sprayed down with cleaner. By 2:30 I finally got him asleep & me wound down enough to sleep. He never puked again & found out this morning he had drank milk & ate some cheesecake pudding that I didn't know about. With his stomach not right from Sunday, Monday it probably was too much for his tummy. So he didn't got to school & I needed to find a laundry mat to wash my comforter. Called my sister & she wanted to go because she needed to wash hers too. Gathered my gross comforter up from the yard & off we went. I put a whole cup of detergent in it plus 2 purex gel packets & as it was washing it stayed foaming the whole time. I didn't care because I was gonna wash it twice anyways. Never been to a laundry mat & I was asking people questions about how do I use the machine & was getting some looks. It wasn't too bad &  after two washes it was good. So back home we went . Got Robins carpet cleaner & 30 mins worth of cleaning the vomit stains off the carpet, it is good & smells good. Read to use Dawn dish detergent & peroxide & it worked , bubbled it right up to the surface! So 4 & 1/2 hours later I'm done sanitizing & washing & cleaning up the remnants of the vomit storm that came thru. I bet Cameron won't puke on the carpet again ! And yes he is fine & I have loved on him, told him I'm sorry & told him he Better Not throw up on the carpet again ! LOL ! So yea, Happy Halloween ! I can assure you he won't be eating any candy tonight !

Subbed for second grade today . Tired & ready for bed !

Been taking care of a sick lil fella  today. He is much better today , more tomorrow.

More of Sandy

 Cameron & I set out this morning to go look at the waves Sandy was making. I have seen them before come over the end of the pier, but these were still larger than usual. The surfers were loving it & at one point a board washed up & I was a little worried because didn't see it's owner. About 5 minutes later here come the dude walking down the beach & he was breathing hard. He gathered his board & went to his car. Guess he had enough ! Cameron said he didn't feel good & kept saying he was gonna throw up. I thought his stomach was upset because he has been laying in his bed eating candy, but no he has a stomach bug. Had to stop 6 times on the way home to let him puke ! He still puking ... no school for him tomorrow. Poor buddy I feel bad for him ! And I feel a little queasy myself.

Hurricane Sandy

Well we have dealt with Sandy all day. Rain, Rain, Rain & some wind but I think the winds are suppose to pick up over night . Kind of crazy end of October & having a hurricane, hence the name it was dubbed Frankenstorm. We got tired of sitting around so we headed to my parents with Jersey Mikes. My Daddy has been busy picking up pecans this past week & got a bucket full, so what else to do when riding out a storm .... crack pecans.

Only put a dent in them, so more cracking to be done !

So , I know your wondering whats the deal with this pic??? Well we were discussing Mammy & how she would had been right up there with us picking these pecans. Well we heard a noise & looked back by the sink & the cups were rolling around & the soap bottle was knocked over ! Guess she was letting us know she was there ! 

Candy Craze

Every year at South Topsail our halloween event is called Candy Craze. Every grade level is to decorate their hall & a table. I dread it every year & glad to say this year is MY LAST !!! Woo Hoo !!!!

Happy Birthday Granny !

Happy Birthday to my mom n law. Not many can say they love their mom n laws & get along good with them but I do! She is a good Momma & a good Granny to my kids! I hope I am as much fun as that when I get to be a granny. Truly thankful to have her & cherish our friendship even more.  Happy Birthday Granny ! Hope you had a good day & got some birthday cake or cupcakes with lots of icing !

Is this week over yet ????? Shew got a lot going on & a lot to do ! I have to stop & tell myself be thankful you have a lot going on. :)

Oh School .... killing me !!! I think I stress more & get worked up & care more than my son.  Thank you Sarah for all your help, I don't what we'd do with our you ! I keep counting down the days !

Cotillion

This afternoon was the 2nd week of Cotillion for Cameron & his friends.  I love to see them dressed up & they are so cute to watch. I came in for the last 15 minutes of learning the Fox Trot. Precious ! Funny how they are embarrassed & some make it so awkward to be touching each other. Boy, we know that will change but until then I'll take the fact that they think it's gross !

More From the Fair

Tyler & Cameron did the turkey shoot . Cameron got the bottom left corner of bullseye. Who ever won must had got center because Cams was pretty close. These pics were so sweet to me.

This older man was carving all these pumpkins . They were pretty neat & has so much detail.

NC State Fair

Spent the day at the State Fair today. We had a good day! Ate all our favorites & we are tired ! Wasn't nothing really new ... Oh wait fried Hawaiian Punch ? Didn't see it but was curious how you fry a liquid ? Cameron loves a fried Twinkie & that's the first thing he got. Ty, Sarah & Hanna were off on their own but told us everything they ate & it was all fried ! Enjoyed being with Ashley & Granny & Olivia . Olivia has her Uncle Tyler wrapped !

So if you know me you know I don't let my kids play in public play places. They are so nasty !!! So for me to let Cameron do this was a BiG thing as I cringed watching him. Told Ashley to have the sanitizer ready & made him wipe his hands, arms & face ! LoL ! Oh & he scrubbed good after the cow & bull ride too !

Special thanks to Aunt Ashley for riding with Cameron cause I sure wasn't about too. I can't do round & round . After the one with Cameron she decided to bond with her brother & ride another one. That one about did her in !

Whew, another stressful day with school ! Glad to have a four day weekend ! Bring it on & a couple of bottles of wine !

Yay for Wednesday ! Kids out of school Friday. Looking forward to this weekend.

Stressed would be an understatement ! I stress more about school than my two kids do. I hated school so much, so I know how one of mine feels but I also regret not doing better & I think it's why I stress so much over it. How many days till school is out ?????

Mondays Ugh !!!!

Great Sunday ! Went to church. Great sermon form Phil. Love our preacher ! Ate lunch,then headed to the hospital to see my brother Danny. Please keep him in your prayers! He is really sick. About 2 yrs ago his intestines got messed up & had a blockage, now they have twisted up on each other & he is in a bad way. Don't know why , anyway , please keep him in your prayers. Came home opened the doors again & had my parents over to eat. Tyler charred some ribs for us! Thankful I had other stuff to eat ! Had a good visit with my parents . Thankful & very blessed !

Beautiful Day

Stayed around house today. It was so nice out that we cut the AC off & opened all the doors & windows. I love opening the doors to the porch wide open. We did some stuff around the house but for the most part we sat on the porch, listen to music , grilled out . Enjoyed this beautiful fall day !

Laying a Solider to Rest

 Today my sister & I along with my Daddy, Rachel & Cameron lined the streets to pay tribute to a young man who lost his life for our country. Sgt. TJ Butler, we did not know but when we heard that hateful church was planning on picketing his funeral, I knew the least I could do was to be a body to shield the family from their hatred that they spew . And they did show up! I don't want to give them any  space on this blog but will say at one point one dressed as a vet & got in the street & started their mess & the Patriot Guards shut them down & next thing we knew he was on his knees by police & put in a mobile jail. I have to say my Dad has always taught us kids a sense of patriotism. We do live in a Great country that many take for granted & even people lives are taken away for this freedom that we breathe. Today was a very touching time. To see the horse drawn caisson & see people pack the streets from funeral home to the church to the cemetery, renewed in me that there are still some good people in this world & loves our country. Glad I took Cameron with us because it's was such a good lesson in Patriotism & made me tear up when I looked down & saw him saluting the casket & vets as they came by. Wish I had got a pic but didn't want to embarrass him because he was just doing what all the other men around him were doing. Defiantly a day I will never forget! May this young hero rest in peace.
