Laid my sweet grandmother, Mammy, to rest today. Had a beautiful service for her & graveside service. Our pastor hit on every point of her life & he is just an awesome preacher. We sang In the Garden & Because He Lives & my niece Elizabeth sang It is Well. All her favorite songs. Wasn't sad because I know she wouldn't had wanted that way, instead rejoiced in the fact she was in heaven & I will see her again. I know people find it strange , but I really do feel her with me. My sister, Robin, had a Great idea of incorporating her garden hoe into us grandchildren's spray. You might find it odd but we took pictures. Nothing like family pictures at a cemetery! I won't share all but it was just one of them times where we were all together. Afterwards we all gathered up at my parents to eat some more. I don't want any Smithfield's for a loooong time ! I found myself one time thinking let me go ask Mammy what she wants to eat. I guess one of many times that will happen. It was hard to tell my Dad I had to leave, but he is good & doing great ! Hugged him a little tighter. I will miss Mammy but like I said I feel her with me & I know all is well.
