Jessie Elizabeth Murray Piner

Yesterday at 7:10pm, my grandmother went on to be with the Lord ! It was peaceful & on her own & something she has wanted for a long time. Her birthday is September 24 & she would had turn 98. 98 ! Wow! She use to always tell me when we'd talk about her age , that no one should live to be this old. I just laugh & say you got to hang on till 100 & she say " Lord I hope not !" Mammy was one of a kind. She made no bones about it that she liked boys better & let it be known Ty was her favorite. It was embarrassing sometimes, but he did love her & she did him. Makes my heart smile. I could always count on her to let me know when I had gained weight. She's slap me on the behind & let me know it was getting wide. I'd tell her well look at yours & she would refer to her age & let me know it didn't matter. She was one strong woman. I truly believe she lived as long as she did because of how active she was . She was still messing in a garden up till about 8 years ago & loved doing it. She'd be out there sweating her tail off & the joke was we would find her dead in the garden. She still worked & did some books when she was 90 & lived on her own up until about 6 or 7 years ago . Amazing & I loved her . I cherish our talks & us carrying on or tearing someone up. She said pffff or call someone a huzzy or trollop in a heart beat! I loved to get her riled up on something. I couldn't had asked for her to go any peaceful. She passed in her sleep. I know she his having a big time right now ! And I know my Aunt Betty was probably the first one to get to her! I know she is beautiful & can close my eyes & imagine . I thank God that I had her for these 98 years & that my children knew her . Very blessed & only hope I can be a strong has she was when I get her age. Can't be sad for her , cause I know she has been wanting this a long time . Nothing better than to be at the feet of Jesus !
