Mammy

I thought I would blog today about my grandmother . She is 97 years old & will be 98 this September. She has done good for her age. For the most part, she can still take care of herself. She is forgetful , will repeat herself & takes a spill, but she is 97, so I think that is probably normal. I am thankful she still knows who I am. That is one thing she has forgot, people & there names. I know the day will come when she wont know, me. She did ask me a couple of weeks ago what was my name , but she went on to explain that she knew who I was, just couldn't remember my name. I told her ReBecca & she said that's right Becca. She is a mess & we always tell her shes got to hang on till 100 & shes says"God, I hope not !" She has been ready to go. She is the only child left out of 11 children & she is either the 2nd to the oldest or the 3rd ? I am a firm believer that she has lived this long because she stayed active. Up to about 6 years ago she had a BIG garden. She would be out there all the time & there was not one weed or a blade of grass in it or on the rows! She is something & we love her . I cherish the time I have with her.
